Odd night sky

I was late feeding on Friday and actually didn’t feed till after midnight.  When I went out the sky was bizarre… pinkish colored in two opposite directions.  There was not moon nor stars visible.  At the time I was creeped out and wanted nothing more to be back in the house.  It just didn’t seem natural.  It certainly wasn’t normal.  It almost resembled northern lights/ auroras, but the directions weren’t right.  Another friend of mine, who lives about 20 minutes away noticed the strange sky also.

The sky 2-13-10 approximately midnight- looking over the back field

In the morning they sky was still strange with a rainbow over the sun.

I had posted the pictures of the strange night sky on facebook.

Later today, I received a very sad comment on one of the late night photos… “John was lighting up heaven for Mark…..”

A good friend lost her husband.  What she said turned the night sky from creepy to comforting.

Who knows… some things just can’t be explained.

And tonight at midnight… no pink sky…

About Mary K. Smith

I was widowed in July 2009, when I lost my beloved husband, John, to melanoma. Cancer SUCKS. We have a young son who was just a year old when his father died. I live on a small farm in Maryland which is home to horses, cats, and a dog. I started this blog as a way for me to heal, a way to remember my husband, and eventually I'd like to share it with our son so he can see the love that his father had for him, the love that we had for each other, what a great person his father was, and how hard his father fought to live.
