Nathaniel putting "up" his Christmas tree 11-26-10

My mom wanted to get Nathaniel his own ceramic Christmas tree. It arrived today. I was absolutely floored that Nathaniel knew how to put the lights in with no prompting. This little child is a thinker and a problem solver and often so observant that it’s scary.  He reminds me SO much of his father.   Every once in a while he’ll have an oblivious or backwards moment… I know exactly where those come from– yours truly– poor kid 😉

While putting up his tree he was so polite and asked for me, Ms. Beth, & Rascal to help him, “Here, you take two.!” He even identified a pink & blue colored light. Pink isn’t even one of the colors I’ve tried to teach him! This kid just amazes me sometimes!!!

About Mary K. Smith

I was widowed in July 2009, when I lost my beloved husband, John, to melanoma. Cancer SUCKS. We have a young son who was just a year old when his father died. I live on a small farm in Maryland which is home to horses, cats, and a dog. I started this blog as a way for me to heal, a way to remember my husband, and eventually I'd like to share it with our son so he can see the love that his father had for him, the love that we had for each other, what a great person his father was, and how hard his father fought to live.
