Photo a day 12-22-10

Crazy… crazy… crazy day today… but since it’s late, I’ll leave it at…

My co-worker pops over the top of the cube, looks at me and says something like, “OMG!!!  Your eye is WAY worse.  YOU NEED to see a DOCTOR!”

And then proceeds to have another co-worker scrutinize my eye.  The conclusion is that I need to get it looked at.  A mirror is withdrawn, I examine my eye… in complete denial, but even I have to concur.  It’s worse…. not much worse, but not better and not the same… worse…

The effects of too much coughing... 12-22-10

So, on my break, I google my eye doctor’s office and add their number to my celluar device and call.  I think I was half hoping for an office closed for the holiday message, but no such luck.

The thought of trying to squeeze in a dr’s appointment before Christmas and with kiddo accompanying… well… it makes me want to stab an icepick into my good eye…

I start off with my… “I don’t know if I need to see a doctor on not speal (sp)”… Well… needless to say… the answers to her questions didn’t send me to my nearest emergency room, but they did book me an appointment for the AM.

So, please hope that it is merely a broken capillary from the effects of coughing… and not something more serious.

About Mary K. Smith

I was widowed in July 2009, when I lost my beloved husband, John, to melanoma. Cancer SUCKS. We have a young son who was just a year old when his father died. I live on a small farm in Maryland which is home to horses, cats, and a dog. I started this blog as a way for me to heal, a way to remember my husband, and eventually I'd like to share it with our son so he can see the love that his father had for him, the love that we had for each other, what a great person his father was, and how hard his father fought to live.
